Barbara Threatt Obituary

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Barbara Threatt, a compassionate and humble soul, who has left a mark on all our hearts. Born on July 17, 1939, in Lake City, South Carolina, to Hildren Johnson, Sr. and Hessie T. Johnson. Through her feisty and sassy nature, she exhibited an unmatched strength and resilience, making her a source of inspiration and comfort for many.


Barbara’s passion for life was evident in her love for shopping, baking, and nurturing her fish pond. She also held a deep fondness for traveling to the mountains. Barbara was a devoted member of the House Of Prayer With Open Arms, living her faith through her acts of kindness and love. 


Her life was a testament to the fact that what mattered most to Barbara was her family.  Her presence will be deeply missed, yet her spirit lives on in the memories we shared with her. Left to cherish those memories are her children, Deborah Kay Anderson (Kenny), Linda Sheorn, Bobby William Moree (Norma), Sherry Bowers, Patsy Moree, Tammy Blackwell (Mitchell), Daniel Threatt (Melissa); brother, Tony Hutchinson (Janada); grandchildren, Brian, Chris, Jamie, Ronnie, Brittany, Carie, Jessica, Tabitha, Tony, Jimmy, Santana, Paul, Adrianna, Andrea, Allie, Dustin, Joseph, Bryana; 33 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren.


She was predeceased by her late companion, Lewis "Bubba" Freeman; great grandson, Joseph Threatt, Jr and son-in-law, Robert Anderson. 


A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at 2:00 pm at House Of Prayer with Open Arms in Kershaw, SC. With burial to follow in Boonetown Cemetery in Kershaw, SC. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
