With a heart full of heartfelt memories and deep admiration, we celebrate the life of June Hutto, born Betty June Poston on December 31, 1939, in the humble town of Leo, South Carolina. June, a compassionate soul, was a beacon of love and support, always thoughtful in her dealings with everyone. June worked diligently and passionately as a Supervisor at Allied Chemicals and was among the first set of women to be made supervisor in the history of the company. She was a faithful member of Trinity Baptist Church in Lugoff where she took part in Mission Friends, the Ladies group "Helping Hands" and VBS. She enjoyed many things, among those being, cooking, camping, going to the lake, sewing, hunting, fishing, coloring and catering. Mrs. Hutto was known for her green thumb, often keeping a big garden and putting together floral arrangements. Above all else what Mrs. Hutto enjoyed most was being a wife, a mother, a grandmother and a great grandmother to her beloved family. She will be truly missed.
She leaves behind her beloved, son, Terry “Bubby” Hutto (Diane) of Conway; daughters, Jerrie “Missie” H. Hughes (Randy) of Lugoff, and Connie “Poo” H. Edwards (David) of Lugoff; grandchildren, April Lynne Hutto Johnson (David) and Andrew Edwards (Heavenly Edenfield); great-grandchild, Isabella "Bella" Johnson, Kimber "Bean" Rose Edwards and Lillian "Lilly" Lane Edenfield; and sister-in-law, Barbara "Bobbie" Kaiser several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her late husband, Raymond Lee Hutto, she was preceded in death by her father, James Poston, and her mother, Lillie Branham Poston.
A memorial service for Mrs. Hutto will be held on Friday, August 22, 2025, at 4:00 pm at Powers Funeral Home in Lugoff, SC. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. Chaplain Suzanne Bachelor will be officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or the Kershaw County Humane Society.
