Charlene M. Roberts, affectionately known as Sherry, passed away on August 16, 2025, leaving a legacy of love, laughter, and invaluable wisdom. Born on January 11, 1956, in Carlisle, PA, Charlene was a beacon of light and warmth to all who were fortunate to know her. She was a woman of strength, resilience, and an unmatched zest for life. As the famous quote goes, "Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away." This quote captures the essence of Sherry's life perfectly.
After moving to Lugoff, South Carolina, Sherry built a life full of joy and fulfillment. She was a devoted wife to Ricky and a nurturing mother to William and Christy. Sherry's professional life was as successful as her personal life. She worked diligently as a tax consultant, providing expert advice and guidance to numerous clients at H and R Block for over 30 years. Her work was not just a job for her, but a meaningful career that she carried out with passion and dedication. When she was not working, Sherry loved playing cards. She was also a talented cook who loved preparing meals for her family and friends, and her dishes were always a hit, especially her cheesecake.
Sherry is survived by her loving husband, Ricky Roberts; her children, Allan Roberts and Christy Davis (Kenny); her siblings, Joe (Jackie), Becky (Tim), Jeff Auker, Kim Hudson, Tammy (Rickey), Cecil Owens, and Georgia (Ronald). She was also a doting grandmother to Amber Sheheen, Brady Davis, and Garrett Davis; and to her great-grandson Theo Sheheen.. Sherry was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Marian Auker.
Just as the sun sets to rise again, we are comforted knowing that while Sherry’s physical presence is no longer with us, her spirit lives on in each person she touched. As Helen Keller once said, "What we once enjoyed and deeply loved we can never lose, for all that we love deeply becomes part of us." Sherry's memory will continue to inspire and guide us, and her love will forever be deeply etched in our hearts.
To celebrate Charlene's extraordinary life, we encourage everyone to share their favorite memories and to upload photos on her memorial page. In doing so, we can keep her spirit alive and allow future generations to know the incredible woman that she was.
