George Walter Gambrell, 66, passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2025. Born in Anderson, SC, he was the son of the late Luther Preston and Doris Craft Gambrell. Mr. Gambrell honorably served his country in the United States Navy. He enjoyed fishing and sitting on the front porch.

Left to cherish his memories is his sisters, Sandra Catoe (Jimmy) and Brenda Hornsby; nieces, Amanda Corder (Charlie) and Michell Corder; great nephew, Henry “Buster” Threatt; and many other nieces, nephews, and extended family.

He was predeceased by his siblings, Larry Craft, Jerry Gambrell, Pete Gambrell and Ethel Corder.

Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at 11:00 am at Powers Funeral Home in Lugoff, SC, with burial to follow in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service.
