Thomas Joseph Cassady, known affectionately to all as TJ, was born on April 3, 1988, in Camden, South Carolina. His life was a radiant beacon of warmth and compassion, a bright light that illuminated the lives of everyone fortunate enough to cross his path. His departure from us on August 5, 2025, though heartbreaking, provides an opportunity to reflect upon and celebrate the remarkable life he lived. Time spent with his family is what he cherished the most but never missed an opportunity make lasting memories with his friends.
TJ was an avid Clemson fan. His caring heart was shown through his loving care giving to animals. Christmas was his favorite time of the year and it showed in his spirit of decorating. Karaoke was a favorite time to share with those he loved.
TJ was a cherished son to Gregory Kent and Melissa McCaskill Cassady, who survive him. He is also survived by his sister, Cami Cassady (Tom Seymour) of Cassatt; nephews, Logan Seymour and Mason Seymour; and niece, Harper Grace Seymour. He was predeceased by paternal grandparents, Thomas Ed and Doris Cassady; and maternal grandparents, Joseph and Mary Ann McCaskill.
TJ's life will be celebrated at Cassatt Baptist Church on Sunday, August 10, 2025, at 3:00 pm EDT with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
Memorials may be made to Cassatt Baptist Church or Theil-Meyer Pet Adoption Ceneter.
The poet Rumi once said, "Goodbyes are only for those who love with their eyes. Because for those who love with heart and soul there is no such thing as separation." As we say goodbye to TJ, we invite you to remember his spirit, his heart, and the love he shared with us all.
