We gather in loving memory of a compassionate soul, Marilyn Tyner, who was born on February 28, 1956, in Kershaw, SC, and left us on August 2, 2025. Marilyn was a pillar of strength, whose life was a testament to unwavering love and steadfast support. Born Marilyn Gregory, she spent her life in South Carolina, making her home in Cassatt. 

Marilyn was a dedicated employee at Gate Gas Station in Camden, SC, where she worked as a cashier. Her kindness and friendly demeanor made her a favorite among customers. Marilyn was a fervent animal lover. Her weenie dog, Chelsey, and her beloved cats were her constant companions. 

 She is survived by her adoring nieces, Gloria Sutherland (Doyle) and Chrissy Ray (Timothy); nephew, Bobby Gregory, Jr. (Pam); great nieces, Katie Sutherland, Jennifer Sutherland, Ashley Ray Hendrix (Dylan); great-nephews, Josh Ray and BJ Gregory; and special friends, Art and Darlene Gordon, Patty and Mona.

In addition to her late husband, Woodrow Tyner, she was predeceased by her parents, Marion Furman Gregory and Mary McDonald Gregory, and siblings, Fredilene K. Gregory (Hurley), Linda Kay Gregory (Bobby), Furman Pauline Gregory (Annie Mae) and Joseph Gregory. 

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at 3:00pm at Powers Funeral Home, located at 832 Ridgeway Road, Lugoff, South Carolina. The funeral service will commence at the same location at 4:00pm, followed by the burial in Banks Gregory Cemetery in Camden, SC.
