CAMDEN- A time of gathering to celebrate the life of Beverly Jean Pitts Simpson, 82, will be held Tuesday, August 5, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow in DeKalb Baptist Church Cemetery at 3:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to DeKalb Baptist Church or the Theil-Meyer Pet Adoption Center.
Mrs. Simpson, wife of the late Gerald Lewis "Jerry" Simpson, passed away on Friday, August 1, 2025. Born in Camden, she was a daughter of the late Roscoe Reese "Jack" and Louise Owens Pitts. Mrs. Simpson was a member of DeKalb Baptist Church. The love of her life was her family, her beloved cats, and her home. She enjoyed painting, decorating, reading and woodworking. She had a grateful heart and loved life and giving to others.
Surviving are her daughter, Brandi Caulder (Barry) of Patrick; grandson, James Caulder; brother, William "Billy" Pitts; special cousins, Linda Taylor, Ann Vinson, Stephanie Napper; and several nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by siblings, Carolyn Zimmerman, Polly Parker, Sarah Peake and Richard Pitts.
