McCormick – A graveside service to celebrate the life of Nell Vinson Davis, 92, formerly of Camden, will be held on Friday August 1, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to 3ABN - Three Angels Broadcasting Network, PO Box 907, Loma Linda, CA 92354.

Mrs.Nell Davis, wife of the late Herbert Davis, passed away Thursday , July 24, 2025 at Self Regional Healthcare in Greenwood surrounded by family.  Born in Kershaw County, she was the daughter of the late Luther and Effie Bradley Vinson.  She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist. Nell was a very loving and giving daughter, wife, mother, sister & grandmother. She loved to garden, fish & spend time with her family. She was a loyal member to her church & felt blessed to serve her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was loved by everyone and always willing to lend a helping hand. We were all blessed to have her in our lives. She will be dearly missed.

Surviving are her children, Wayne and Jackie Davis of McCormick, Lynn and Gary Philpott of Camden, and Lettye Oglevie of Oregon; 10 grandchildren, Amy and Lowrie Wilson, Tony and Christen Davis, Pamela and Chris Barnett, Brodie and Mindy Philpott, Matt and Amanda Oglevie, Joshua and Whitney Oglevie, Jacob and Anna Oglevie, and Faith and Travis Wegner; and  22 great-grandchildren, Brandon and Davis Wilson, Payne & Carver Davis, Nathan Green, Khloe & Andrew Barnett, Claire & Rachel Philpott, Carson and Juliana Oglevie, Wyatt, Jacob, Ethan and Melanie Hall, Addission, Ryan, Aliza & Abigail Hall, Jayce and Izabel Wegner.

Surviving siblings are Jean Rush (Buster); Stanley Vinson, and Carroll Vinson (Sandy); and daughter-in-laws Joann Vinson, Doris Faye Vinson & Vivian Vinson.

She was preceded in death by siblings; Eveleen Vinson, Irene Ogburn (Mendel), Luther Vinson, Jr. (Frances), John William “JW” Vinson (Kathryn) , Bill Vinson, Floyd Vinson, Lewis Vinson (Mamie Lou), and Ralph Vinson.
