Sumter – Amelia Watkins, 90, passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital. Born in Lugoff, she was the daughter of the late Haskell and Sadie Jacobs. She enjoyed cooking, coffee, eating sweets and most of all spending time with her family.
Left to cherish her memory is her children, Maggie Ballard, Freddie Watkins (Linda), Emogene Watkins, and Patricia Bracey (Leslie); 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Leroy Watkins, Sr.; sons, Leroy Watkins, Jr. and Randolph Watkins; grandson, Teddy Watkins; granddaughter, Zion Pouge; son-in-law, Willie Ballard; and a host of siblings.
The family extends a special thanks to Stacey Holiday for her loving care given to Amelia over the last 10 years.
