LUGOFF- A celebration of life service for Jean Rose Jeffers, 85, will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Powers Funeral Home. The Rev. Brian Hunt will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a small act of kindness in Jean’s name, whether it’s helping a neighbor, offering a warm conversation, or supporting a local business.

    Jean passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2025. Born in Blaney, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Christine Hornsby Rose. Jean retired from DuPont and then opened her own salon, Jean’s Hair Place. She enjoyed sewing, canning vegetables, shopping, and spending time with family.

    Surviving are her sons, Troy Jeffers (Becky) of Lugoff, Lannie Jeffers of Leesville, Stacey Jeffers of Elgin; grandchildren, Brandon Jeffers, Justin Jeffers (Charlie), Kristen Matthews (Christopher); siblings, Carolyn Branham, Arlin Rose, Emma Dora Mikesch, Vera Nelson (Wayne), Betty Timmerberg, Iris Rose; and 5 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by siblings, Coley Rose, Jerry Rose, Robert Rose, Jimmy Rose, and Doris Thomas.
