LUGOFF – Mr. Allen “LeGrande” Altman, husband of Amanda Wright Altman, passed away at home surrounded by loved ones on Sunday, July 6, 2025, at the age of 71. Born in Florence County, S.C., he was the son of the late Allen Altman and Amelia Turner Altman.   

LeGrande loved working in his yard, spending time outdoors, and was an avid softball player. He retired with 25-plus years of service with Mack Trucks.

Surviving in addition to his wife are his children, Whitney (Adam) McCullough of Lexington, S.C., Dakoda Altman, Cheyenne Altman, and Landon Altman, all of Lugoff, S.C.; granddaughters, Jazlen Altman and Alliana Altman, of the home, who he lovingly called his Baby Grands; siblings, Brenda Altman of Johnsonville, S.C., Nell Altman of San Antonio, TX, Pamela (Terry) Lyerly of Johnsonville, S.C., Lynn McKenzie of Barrineau, S.C., Mark Altman of Columbia, S.C., and Pete (Lisa) Altman of Effingham, S.C.; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by siblings, Julia Paulette Altman and C.R. Altman.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at Powers Funeral Home. The Rev. Tim Shirley will officiate. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lugoff Church of God.
