Margie Ann Hart Obituary

Margie Ann Harris Moore Hart was born in Nashville, Tennessee to the late Fannie Belle Bolton Harris and Panama May Harris on January 14, 1941.  She passed peacefully in her home surrounded by her loved ones on Friday, June 27, 2025 in Columbia, S.C at the age of 84.


 


She loved the Lord with all of her heart and loved her family.  She was a wonderful cook, and her family loved her steak and gravy, and her cornbread, especially her southern sweet iced tea.  All the Texas family and friends loved for her to make them sweet iced tea.  She was a collector of owls and eagles and had a beautiful display.  Her collection was a focal point in her home and she enjoyed sharing the stories of each piece with those that visited her.


 


She is survived by daughters;  Catherine Crain and Nellie Hodge (Ron); son, James Moore; son-in-law, Patrick Young; grandchildren; Roscoe Wright (Tiffany), Patrick John Young (Sabrina), Kristina Sprague (Toby), great grandchild; Kyleigh Sprague;  nephew, Louis Barfield, Jr. (Liz) ; niece, Annie Marie Prestage ; and  Cousins in Louisiana, Tennessee and Texas. 


In addition, she was predeceased by her husband, Fred;  former husband, John David Moore, Sr (J.D.); sister, Billie Juanita Harris; sons, John David Moore Jr., and Percy Steve Moore; daughter,  Loretta Lynn Moore Young; great-granddaughter, Hope Annlynn Young; son-in-law, Robert (Bob) Lee Crain, Jr.


 


The family extends a special thanks to their loving aunt Ruby Gonzales who was by Margie’s side providing loving care until the end.  Aunt Ruby wears many hats and has always been there for her family in special times of need. Also, Aunt Ruby’s family, especially Melissa for their support and care given to Margie.


 


Funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 3, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff, with burial to follow in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Rembert, S.C. Pastor Nathan Scott will be officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
