Bethune – Funeral service for Bobbie Jean Railey Hinson, 88, will be held on Thursday, July 3, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Harmony Baptist Church in Bethune with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Tim Stephens will officiate. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Memorial may be made to the American Cancer Society or Harmony Baptist Church in Bethune.
Mrs. Hinson, wife of the late Henry Wallace Hinson, passed away at home surrounded by her family on Sunday, June 29, 2025. Born in Cheraw, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Marion and Susie Gainey Kissiah. She was a faithful member of Harmony Baptist Church. She enjoyed going to the beach, walking on the pier and caring for her goats. Mrs. Hinson was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Judy Railey Dease of Blairsville, Ga., Betty Crowley of Camden, Deborah Jean Jordan of Bethune, Lewis Earl Railey (Betty) of Bethune, David Joseph Railey of Lugoff, and Tina Railey Gardner (Steve) of Bishopville; 17 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her first husband, Lewis David Railey, Jr.; son, David Neal Railey; daughter, Barbara Ann Dripps; granddaughter, Jennifer Lynn Dripps; brothers, Billy Kissiah and William Lee Kissiah; and sisters, Elizabeth Starnes, Doris Mosley, and Clarine Johnson.
