Stephen Eugene Sheorn, Jr., 74, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his beloved family on Saturday, June 28, 2025. Born in Camden, SC, on May 11, 1951, he was the son of the late Stephen Eugene Sheorn, Sr. and Sarah McCrary Sheorn. He married the love of his life, Mrs. Connie Wimberley Sheorn on September 7, 1985, in Clinton, SC. Mr. Sheorn honorably served his country in the United States Navy for two years. While in the Navy he received a National Defense Service Medal. He and Mrs. Sheorn were both faithful servants to their church, Harvest Baptist Church in Lugoff, SC. Mr. Sheorn enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking in his freetime. He will be truly missed by the family he leaves behind.
In addition to his beloved wife, he leaves to cherish his memories, his children, Stephen E. Sheorn III (Jill) of Lugoff, SC, Angela Gardner (Gregg) of Lugoff, SC and Dr. Zachary Sheorn (Anna) of Greenville, SC; sisters, Linda Bullock (Rick) of Cream Ridge, NJ and Carol Jackson of Abbeville, SC; grandchildren, Laiken Tidwell, Sarah Sheorn, Kaylee Tidwell, Ella Sheorn, Zoey Sheorn and his sixth granddaughter due in September; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by brother-in-law, Steve Jackson.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 02, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Powers Funeral Home in Lugoff, SC with burial to follow in Quaker Cemetery in Camden, SC. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The Rev. Bill Dulaney will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital at www.stjude.org/donate or to the Lugoff Fire Department Explorers Program in honor of Mr. Sheorn or VIA Health Partners (Hospice Agency) www.viahp.org.
