Elgin – A service to celebrate the life of John Paul Ortmann, Sr., 90, will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at 12:00 PM at Elgin Congregational Holliness Church. The Rev. Warren Morris will officiate.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. 

Mr. Ortmann, husband of the Brenda Patricia Cook Ortmann, passed away on Friday, June 13, 2025.  Born in Toledo, OH., he was the son of the late Fred L. Ortmann and Ottille Eck Ortmann.  He worked 41 years for Dana Cooperation in Toledo Ohio. He was a member of Elgin Congregational Holliness Church.  Mr. Ortmann enjoyed collecting Hot Wheels Cars and going to car shows.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Shelia Ortmann of Toledo, OH, and Dawn Breidgan of Finley, OH; a son, John P. Ortmann, Jr. (Kelly) of Owtawa, MI; stepchildren, Cynthia Branham and Tina Clifford; 6 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Dyllin Ortmann; a stepson, Thomas Wayne Shoemake; and a sister, Rita Mabe.
