Frank Leroy Shealy, Sr. Obituary

Frank Leroy Shealy, Sr., 84, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2025. Born on July 5, 1940, in Columbia, SC, to Freeman Leroy Shealy Sr. and Dorothy Bellamy Shealy, Frank lived a meaningful life rooted in family, hard work, and joy.

A proud U.S. Navy veteran, Frank carried the values of service, determination, and integrity into every aspect of his life. He was a true jack of all trades—a gifted carpenter, savvy businessman, and creative spirit. Whether he was crafting porch swings by hand, building toys for his grandchildren, or launching a new business venture, Frank’s hands were always busy, and his heart was always in it.

Always a generous spirit, Frank provided guidance and advice to all who would listen and often spoke of the value of hard work and determination. Often he could be found reminiscing with family members on the challenges of his life and how they helped him grow into the person that was loved

by so many.

Frank was also known for his sense of humor, his contagious smile, and his unwavering love for his family. He had a particular soft spot for his grandchildren, nieces, and nephews—many of whom fondly remember his spontaneous donut runs and the joy he brought to even the smallest moments.

He found happiness in life’s simple pleasures: classic Westerns, 1950s music, fishing trips, and traveling across the states and several countries. No matter where he went, he brought laughter, kindness, and a sense of adventure with him.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Virgie Elese Shealy; his parents; and his brother, Roy Shealy.

He is survived by his sister, Ellen Seymour of Myrtle Beach, SC; his daughter, Wendi Khan (Usama) of Wichita, KS; and his son, Frank Shealy Jr. (Claudia) of Fairbanks, AK. He leaves behind nine grandchildren: Stephanie Whelan (Thomas), Maggie and Heidi Jonkers, Michelle Shealy, Michael Shealy (Leah), Charlotte, Ezekial, and Lochlann Shealy, and Heather Snyman (Jaycee); as well as six great-grandchildren: Nicole and Alaina Shealy, James and Gideon Whelan, and Jennifer and Mea Snyman. He is also remembered with love by his nieces and nephews: Jennifer Chirico (Caleb), Phillip Chirico (Raven), Nicholas Chirico, Leslie Shealy, Russell Shealy, and Marty Shealy.

Frank Shealy’s legacy of laughter, wisdom, generosity, and hard work will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

A graveside service is scheduled for 11 am on June 7th, 2025 at Quaker Cemetery in Camden, SC.
