Obituary of Scott Brian Taylor

Scott Brian Taylor, 68, passed away on Wednesday, April 9, 2025. Born in Oakland, California, on November 19, 1957 he was the son of the late Lillian Emmy Taylor Blasewitz and Marcus Reeves Taylor, Sr. He married his beloved wife, Patricia “Patty” Diane Ebron Taylor in Annapolis, MD on January 14, 1982. Mr. Taylor was a Researcher and Developer for Specialty Filaments and also worked for Hengst as a Technician before retiring in 2019. Mr. Taylor enjoyed fishing, drinking beer, guns, tinkering, playing golf, birdwatching and an avid Baltimore Ravens Fan. But above all else he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was known for being a funny dry humor guy with a dad joke ready to be fired off at any moment. He will be truly missed by all of those that are left behind.

Left to cherish his memories in addition to his wife of 43 years is his daughters, Amanda Michelle Banton (Randy) of Lugoff, SC and Amy Marie Jordan (William Dean) of Lugoff, SC; brother, Marcus Reeves Taylor, Jr. (Bonnie) of Glen Burnie of MD; brothers-in-laws, Joseph Triggs of El-Dorado, MD, Edward Ebron (Lorie) of Chrisfield, MD, Russell Ebron Seaford, DE; sister-in-laws, Betty Ruth Fox of Elgin, SC and Geneva “Jenny” Fowler of Greensboro, MD; mother-in-law, Betty Ruth Schetrompf of Greensboro, MD; grandchildren, Taylor Dawn Arnold Duffy (Sean) of Greenville, SC, LJ Fogel of Greensville, SC, Olivia Hinson of Lugoff, SC, Jacob Gabriel Parker, Jr.,  of Lugoff, SC, and Emmy Ray Jordan of Lugoff, SC; great- grandchildren, Aedan Thomas Duffy of Lugoff, SC, Riley Michelle Duffy of Lugoff, SC and Camri Dianne Duffy of Lugoff, SC.

Mr. Taylor was predeceased by brother-in-laws, Warren Fowler and Butch Fox.

A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at 6:00 pm at Powers Funeral Home in Lugoff, SC. The family will be visiting with friends following the service.
