Obituary of LTC (Ret) Loren W. Webb

CAMDEN-LTC (ret) Loren Waldmer Webb, (US Army), 94, passed away on Sunday, March 16, 2025. He was born in Springfield GA, on July 6, 1930, to the late George L. Webb, Sr. and Allie Malphrus Webb.  

    Colonel Webb proudly served in the United States Army for 21 years as a pilot completing tours in both Korea and Vietnam. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family and was a member of the Celebrate Freedom Foundation and First Baptist Church, Camden.  He was a former board member with Woodward Field Airport in Camden where he was always instrumental in helping to advance the growth of the airport operations.

 

    Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Barbara Webb; son, Colonel (ret) Timothy L. Webb (Belinda) of Camden, SC; daughter, Melinda Rabon (Darryl) of Lugoff, SC;  brothers, George Lee Webb, Jr., and Richard L. Webb; 4 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Eloise Webb Bardin; and brothers, Lawrence Webb, David L. Webb, and Danny L. Webb.

    A graveside service with military honors will be held in Fort Jackson National Cemetery on April 11, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, Camden or the DAV.
