Obituary of Gayle Clyburn Ross

Gayle Clyburn Ross, 83, passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2025. Born in Camden, SC she was the daughter of the late Lewis “LC” Clyburn and “Mary” Jon Clyburn. Ms. Ross was a member of Bethany Westville Church for many years. She enjoyed animals, traveling, her independence, fishing. Ms. Ross has endured many hardships in her lifetime, being a amputee, a breast cancer survivor and many other ailments and through it all her positive outlook on life shined through always. She had a very extensive background in Nursing. She worked for Kershaw Memorial Hospital as a RN, she was the Director of Nursing for Lee County Memorial Hospital, a psychiatric nurse for The Bryan Center and volunteered for Hospice Groups towards the end of her career before retiring.

Left to cherish her memories is her daughter, Crystal “Crissy” Winchester of Camden, SC; grandchild, David Allen Powell of Camden, SC and Jessica Renee Powell of Camden, SC; great-grandson, Brexton Harrington of Camden, SC and numerous, nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family.

She was predeceased by her sisters, Jonnie Yount of Camden, SC and Marjorie Ann Padgett of Camden, SC.

A memorial service will be held at Bethany Westville Church Cemetery on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at 3:00 pm. Nephew, Mike Padgett will be officiating.
