Obituary of Robert Scott Bullock
New Orleans - Robert Scott Bullock, 57, well-known local and national artist, passed away at home on Saturday, February 8, 2025. Born in Cape May Court House, N.J., he was the son of Robert Lemmon and Janice Flossie Johnson Bullock.
A 1985 graduate of Lugoff-Elgin High School, he received an associates degree from Trident Technical College in Charleston, S.C. and a bachelor's degree from the American Academy of Art in Chicago. He was a highly talented and accomplished artist that created fascinating and unique works of art that ranged from huge commercial murals to fine art paintings with a flair for the outdoors. Scott’s art is well known throughout the United States and will live on forever.
He had a passion for plants and was a creative horticulturist. He loved nature and the outdoors, especially camping and hiking. It was his deep love for music and art that sent him on his journey to Chicago with showings throughout the city, including fine art galleries and private viewings. From there his heart lead him to New Orleans where he was able to continue to live out his God given talent.
Growing up, he appreciated comic books and Star Trek which he continued to enjoy throughout his life. Scott had an immense love for animals and always took time to help and rescue when able. He was a kind and beautiful soul that touched so many lives. His neighbors in New Orleans have nothing but great things to say about him and how he helped so many, especially his elders. There will be a deep loss felt in his community.
Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Robert and Janice Bullock of Alcolu, S.C.; sisters, Nora Bullock of Lugoff and Nina Hodge (Jody) of Alcolu; nephew Robert Seth Harmon of Georgia; and his beloved friend, Ronit Mitchel of Chicago.
A Celebration of Life for Scott will be held in the early Spring. Details will be made available soon.
