Obituary of Tamara Nicole Shirey

LUGOFF- A funeral service for Tamara Nicole Shirey, 40, will be held Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Lugoff Church of God with burial to follow in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Kenny Compton, the Rev. Tim Shirley, and the Rev. Glenn Tidwell will officiate. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1-2 p.m. at the church.

    Nicole passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2025. Born in Camden, she was the daughter of Carlos Larue Shirey and Tammy Thompson Marsh. Nicole was raised in Lugoff Church of God and was a current member of Tabernacle Ministries in Great Falls, S.C. She was a loving and caring person who enjoyed giving gifts. She was a strong witness for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, especially to the younger generation. Above all, Nicole loved her children and her family.  A devoted sister, she leaves behind her loving younger brother, Cyle Shirey, who cherished his role as her protector. Their bond was filled with laughter, shared secrets, and unwavering support through life's joys and challenges. They navigated life's ups and downs together, always finding strength in each other. 

    Surviving are her son, Coleton Garren; daughter, Cailynn Shirey; mother, Tammy Thompson Marsh; father, Carlos Larue Shirey; brother, Carlos “Cyle” Shirey II (Kelly); maternal grandmother, Mary Thompson; and nieces, Addison Shirey, Savanna Group, and Lynsey Smith. She was predeceased by maternal grandfather, David Thompson; paternal grandfather, James Shirey; and paternal grandmother, Alma Griffin.
