Nancy B. Altman Obituary

ELGIN – A funeral service for Nancy B. Altman, 82, will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Powers Funeral Home with burial to follow in Memorial Gardens of Columbia Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10-11 am at the funeral home.


Mrs. Altman, wife of the late Charles William Altman, passed away on Monday, February 3, 2025. Born in Columbia, she was a daughter of the late Ocia Layton and Virginia Padgett Hagins. Mrs. Altman enjoyed playing cards, camping, cooking, and traveling to Maggie Valley and the mountains.


Surviving are her sons, William Layton Altman Sr. (Jonna) of Lexington, Richard Blackwell Altman (Sandra) of Eutawville; daughter, Mary Altman Bennett of Elgin; grandchildren, William Jr., Stacey, Samantha, Caleb; great-grandchildren, Alex, Trey, Zoey, River; and a sister, Lynn Harrington (Fred) of Cayce. She was predeceased by siblings; Tommy Hagins, Tina Hagins, Barbara Isenhoward, Hoyt Hagins; and a grandson, Charles Scott Altman.
