Obituary of Lillie Mae Jefferson
Lillie Mae Blair Jefferson was born December 25, 1936 in Cassatt, SC 29032. She departed January 29, 2025. She was born to the late Johnny J. Blair and Almeta Cruel Blair.
She worked her early years in the food service business at Ruby’s Diner and Midway Elementary Cafeteria. She later retired from Textilease Corporation in Charlotte after her health started to decline. She enjoyed cooking and being with family. She was a member of Red Hill Baptist Church. She was a faithful lover of God and talked with him constantly throughout the day.
She was preceded in death by a son, James A. Jefferson; 4 brothers, Johnny Blair, James A. Blair, Frank Blair and Richard Blair; 3 sisters, Johnny Mae Stokes, Viola Blair and Gloria Blair and a grandson, Dominique Williams.
She was married to Henry Jefferson and from that union six children were born.
Patricia (Rick) Alexander, Henrietta (Issac) Boykin, Ervin (Charlene) Jefferson, Jason (Barbara) Jefferson, Jackie (Corey) Sweetenburg, 15 grandchildren, Shanika (Cedric) Brown, Derrick Alexander, Corey Jefferson, Tyreek Jefferson, Jaquan and Javeon Brisbon, Ashley Jefferson, Laquasha (Channing) Woods, Latrell Jefferson, Ryan Sweetenburg, Jordan Sweetenburg, Travis (Kenyatta) and Trever Jefferson and Terrence Thomas, along with 16 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Susie Mae Furman and Betty Ruth Frazier and a special sister-in-law, Ledoris Blair; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A funeral service will be held at Powers Funeral Home at 11:00 am on Thursday, February 6, 2025. With burial to follow services in Red Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Cassatt, SC. A viewing will be held the day before from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm at the funeral home. Rev. Loman Jones will be officiating.
