CASSATT - Funeral service for Tonya Michelle Smith, 37, will be held Monday at 2:00 p.m. at Cassatt Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Robert Brown and Rev. Ronnie Driggers will officiate. The family will receive friends Sunday 5-7 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Mrs. Smith entered into eternal rest Thursday, February 25, 2010. Born in West Columbia, she was a daughter of Cecelia Diana Jackson King and the late James Edward Gainey. She was a Nurse with Ridgeway Health Care. She enjoyed dancing, music festivals, the lake, beach, mountains, karaoke, and most of all spending time with her family. Surviving are her husband of 10 years, Ted K. Smith; mother and step-father, Cecelia and Richard King of Lexington; children, Cecelia “Alanna” Gordon of Camden, Austin “Chase” Smith, Zachary “Colton” Smith, and Tanner “Dalton” Smith, all of the home; sisters, Windy Lee Gainey of West Columbia, and Peggy Victoria McMillan of Lexington; granddaughter, Addison Hope “Addy” McCallister; maternal grandmother, Peggy M. Jackson; and paternal grandmother, Rosa Lee Gainey. She was predeceased by her maternal grandfather, Robert D. Jackson.
