Obituary of Arleen Carole Stevens

ELGIN - Funeral Services to celebrate the life of Arleen Carole Moore Stevens, 66, of Elgin will be held Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. at Lugoff First Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Greg Sweet and Rev. Dave Robinson will be officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Mrs. Stevens died Monday, February 22, 2010. Born June 15, 1943 in Columbia, S.C. she was a daughter of the late Howard A. and Effie Moore. She was a graduate of Columbia High School, member of Eastern Star # 411 and American Legion Ladies Aux Chapter #182, member of Lugoff First Baptist Church. She retired from Dept. of HUD as a paralegal for over 20 years. Mrs. Stevens was an avid supporter to the Tucker Center for Disabled Veterans and the Shiners Hospital. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Raymond E. Stevens, Sr.; son, Raymond E. (Eddie) Stevens, Jr. and his wife, Stephanie of Lugoff; daughter, Renee Thomas and her husband, Tim of Elgin; five grandchildren, Brittany Stevens, Taylor Stevens, Trey Stevens, Bailey Thomas, and Ty Thomas; brother, Howard Moore of Atlanta, Ga.; sister, Susan Perrot of Elgin, S.C.; and close and special friend of the family Dawn Beard of Irmo, S.C. The family would like to thank the nurses and caregivers of Community Home Care and Hospice for the wonderful care they provided. Memorials in lieu of flowers can be made to the Lugoff First Baptist Church Building or Cemetery Fund. Powers Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
