Obituary of Hollie L Dinkins

CAMDEN - Funeral service for Hollie L. “Dink” Dinkins, Jr., 75, will be held Saturday 11:00 a.m. at Powers Funeral Home with burial to follow in Quaker Cemetery. Rev. Joe Stines will officiate. The family will receive friends 4-6 p.m. Friday at Powers Funeral Home. Memorial may be made to Hospice Care of Tri-County, 2039 West DeKalb Street, Camden, S.C. 29020. Mr. Dinkins died Wednesday, December 30, 2009. Born in Lugoff, he was a son of the late Hollie L. and Berdette Parker Dinkins. He served in the South Carolina National Guard and retired from DuPont. He enjoyed fishing, NASCAR, Clemson football, and camping. Surviving are his wife of 32 years, Joyce G. Dinkins; son, Jimmy Dinkins and his wife, Cheryl Goff Dinkins of Lugoff; step-son, Jeff Cooper and his wife, Lori Jones Cooper of Camden; step-daughter, Lisa Cooper Barrett and her husband, Phil Barrett of Lake Wateree; grandchildren, Jamie Dinkins, Kathryn Taylor and her husband Jason, and Amber Joyce; step-grandchildren, Jordan Cooper, Graham Cooper, and Tanner Cooper; great-grandchildren, D.J. Dorman, Paul Taylor, and Michael Taylor; and sister, Wilma Keith and her husband, Rembert of Lugoff. He was predeceased by daughter, Connie Joyce, brother, Jasper Dinkins; and sister, Eloise Coker. The family expresses great appreciation to Hospice Care of Tri County nursing staff: Renda Hodge and Mary Moses, Hospice of Kershaw County staff, and many family and friends for their support.
