Obituary of Ralph A. Fetner
LUGOFF - Funeral service for Ralph Alexander Fetner, Jr., 70, will be held Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home with burial to follow in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital.
Mr. Fetner died Monday, December 28, 2009. Born in Columbia, he was a son of the late Ralph Alexander Fetner Sr. and Addie Jane Moyd Fetner. He retired from the Southern Railroad where he was a Diesel Supervisor. He was a Mason and a member of Dutch Fork Lodge #402 and the Jamil Shrine. He was a member of the AACA – Sandlappers and the Early V8 Club. He loved antique cars and was an avid Gamecock fan.
Surviving are his wife of 10 years, Mary Ann Fetner; son, Ralph A. Fetner III; daughters, Laura Jane Fetner, Suzanne Elizabeth Fetner, and Stephanie Fetner; step-children, John David Geddings, Robbie Geddings, Bill Geddings, Kristine Ratliff, Sharon Smith, and Steven Ratliff; brothers, Ted Fetner and Michael Fetner; sister, Pattie Culbertson; and 4 grandchildren.
