JACKSON, GA - Graveside service for Catherine Sue Birtchman, 55, will be held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. in Hardshell Cemetery. Lugoff. Rev. Dr. Mark Bredholt will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday 12:00 – 1:30 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Mrs. Birtchman died Saturday, December 26, 2009. Born in Indianapolis, Ind., she was a daughter of Paul Basso and the late Sharlet Clair. She attended Rocksprings Baptist Church in Griffin, Ga. and enjoyed cross stitching and gardening. Surviving are her father of Indianapolis, Ind.; step-father, Gary Clair of Columbia; sons, John (Edilyn) Wallsmith of Fort Gordon, Ga., and Jeff Wallsmith of Elgin; daughter, Jennifer Birtchman of Elgin; brothers, Joe (Cathy) Basso and Brian (Dana) Basso; sister, Sheryl (Benny) Newbern; and 6 grandchildren. She was predeceased by sisters, Paula Taylor and Brenda Graham.
