CAMDEN - Graveside service for Guy A. Snyder, 83, will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in Elmwood Cemetery and Gardens, Columbia. Rev Dr. Guy Oliver will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Walter M. Crowe Animal Shelter, 460 Fair Street, Camden, S.C. 29020. Mr. Snyder died Wednesday, December 16, 2009. Born in Mountain Top, Pa., he was a son of the late G. Guy and Evelyn Kauffman Snyder. He retired from the United States Army as a Chief Warrant Officer having served in WW II, Korea and Vietnam. He was formerly the City Court Administrator for the City of Columbia. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and gardening. Surviving are his wife of 30 years, Bobbie J. Snyder; sons, Bruce D. Snyder (Jan) of Denver, Colo., and Paul Mark Montoya (Bethany) of Lugoff; daughters, Laura Snyder Garnes (Alan) of Seattle, Wash., Lizabeth Snyder Dillon of Irmo, and Rebecca Snyder Caskey (Skey) of Irmo; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife, Marion E. Snyder; daughters, Sarah J. Snyder Wahl, and Susan M. Snyder Heinz; and a sister, Evelyn Faye Galow. The family expresses great appreciation to Dr. Susan Munn, Dr. Anthony Godfrey, Dr. Alderson, and the staff of Tri County Hospice for their heartfelt care.
